| Overview of the practice |
Before we start the day, let us take a moment to cultivate our grounding, firm up our stability and our verticality. We connect ourselves to Heaven and Earth, we fully inhabit our bodies so as to calm our minds and together, we celebrate the new day — a creation of the moment and not an interminable repetition, as long as we know how to be present with our whole being, with our heart, mind and vital center unified. A unified quality of presence can’t be discovered in a day; it is patiently cultivated day after day, without end. I’ve practiced grounding every morning since I was 28. I’m 60 now, and I know this practice will accompany me till the end of my days. It’s new every morning, I’m never bored, the grounding never stops going deeper, refining itself. It’s an inner voyage, a meeting with oneself, always more complete and authentic, revealing the infinity of our being. These explorations will be done standing; they come from Qigong and the Kashmir yogic tradition. Sessions will begin with a period of listening, an overview of our territory. Next come the gradual establishment of an alignment, a double connection with heaven and earth, a recentering and an effective rootedness via the breath. Then we’ll let a few simple, gentle, occasionally more dynamic movements unfold from our living centre. Sometimes we’ll explore balancing positions to firm up the foundation. The sessions may be done in a chair if the standing position is too demanding. The sessions will be guided in French and translated into English by Pauline. |
